Bonjour ladies, today, July 30th is the world day against human trafficking and it was mandatory for me to write something about it. It's something very close to my heart especially when it impacts young children that unfortunately cannot speak up for themselves.
It's estimated that internationally there are between 20 million and 40 million people in modern slavery. The highest number of victim is exploited for labour even though most of us associate human trafficking with sex trafficking.
Human trafficking earns global profits of roughly $150 billion a year for traffickers, $99 billion of which comes from commercial sexual exploitation.
Globally, an estimated 71% of enslaved people are women and girls, while men and boys account for 29%. You can read more statistics over here:
Don't be duped, human trafficking happens in every corner of the planet including modern countries like USA, France etc...

Take action
Speak up
Using our voice is a powerful tool, just because it does not happen to us does not mean it's a topic we should not talk about. The more you share, the more you spread awareness, the more people will take action, donate, volunteer, and report if they see a potential trafficking situation (the signs). Unity is necessary to fight this and it starts by talking about it. If you are on social media, you can also share on it, it's a great tool to use for this kind of cause.
I would also save this number:

Research/Act
-In a world of mass consumption, we often forget to think where/how this end product came from. I am myself guilty of it. I think it's our responsibility to research and eventually try to eliminate products generated by exploited labour.
-In a world of heartless perverts/pedophile, I have myself realized how many nightlife places contributed into human trafficking for sexual exploitation, if you simply google about it in your own city, you will find lots of article about how some places looks clean from the outside but do a dirty job behind the scene. BAN THOSE PLACES!
-As parents, you also can take action by not posting your child photo on social media. Child predators uses internet to find victim. Be aware of what your child is doing on the internet, it may seem innocent but just keep in mind, there is some sick people out their and you must protect your child by checking their account for example, banning certain platform etc... (read more here)
-These are just few examples, after reading the articles, you will realize, it goes beyond our imagination but the essential is we ACT on it and don't just ignore it.
Donate/Volunteer (a few out of many):
I WILL FOR SURE MAKE MORE EFFORT INTO CONSTANTLY LEARNING AND RESEARCHING ON WAYS I CAN HELP AND I HOPE YOU WILL TOO.
