Now, let's go into details. We decided to fly to Podgorica because it was the cheapest city to fly into Montenegro from Paris. We selected the cities we wanted to visit and realized they were all very close to each other so decided to rent a car as it's the best way to travel from place to place but beware, some roads are narrow and the Montenegrin do have a heavy foot so get a car you feel secure in.
Podgorica
To be honest, there was not much to see, we just walked around, ate and did a mini hike
Restaurant I recommend: - Protokol
Activities: - Mini hike to Grlo Sokolovo
- Niagara Fall, Montenegro (we attempted to see it but it was dry)
Budva
We decided to stay 3 nights in Budva to have it as a base to travel around. Budva was so beautiful, I definitely recommend visiting it.
Restaurant I recommend: - Fontana Restaurant (must try the tres leches)
- Jadran
Activities: - Walk around old town
- Mogren Beach
- The Church of Stevi Ivan
Kotor
We drove from Budva to Kotor, a beautiful cute town worth visiting as well.
Restaurant I recommend: - Taraca Resto Bar
Activities: - Boat Tours
- Visit Old town
Perast
We drove from Budva to Perast, Budva was really our base :) This town was very very cute, we did not spend a lot of time as we already visited the Lady of the Rocks and Saint George on the boat tour the day before. It was a very pleasant walk though and the beach is very pretty if you fancy it.
Restaurant I recommend: Locanda
Durmitor
My favorite place of all. We stayed in a guest house (link above) and it was the best experience ever. Our host, Yelena was the kindest soul and made us feel so welcomed. She was also very resourceful in terms of information on what to do and the personal touch: making us homemade breakfast every morning.
Restaurant I recommend: Oro (we ate here twice)
Activities: Hike at Crno jezero (black lake)
Hike to Bobotuv Kuk - Well we were clearly over confident with this one, we did not have the right shoes. I attempted to continue solo but it was not a good idea so turned back :)
On our way back to Podgorica, we stopped at Đurđevića Tara Bridge and Ostrog Monastery which was actually pretty impressive to visit (dress appropriately if you visit it)
Et voila
